Aloe Vera - How it Works

The first step is to clean the wound with Aloe Advantage Phenol Wound Cleanser
PROBLEM: Usually cleaning the wound is done with iodine based products. With iodine scrubs, you may have some burning, stinging and staining. With the garden hose cleansing, there may be very little irritation as far as stinging, however, it is certain that if bacteria is present on the wound, the garden hose will not destroy it.  Depending on your water supply, using a garden hose may actually add to the problem. Both of these options may also leave the wound dehydrated.
SOLUTION: By using the Aloe Advantage Phenol Wound Cleanser you are doing so much more than just cleansing the wound. The ingredient "phenol " is an analgesic and a disinfectant. As an analgesic, it quickly numbs the wound as soon as the Cleanser is sprayed onto the wound it has the same effect as Chloroseptic does when it is sprayed on the back of a sore throat. The numbing action along with the "trigger sprayer", with a PSI of 7,that can be sprayed from a safe distance or on a hard to reach area makes the perfect combination for treating a young or spooked horse.
As a disinfectant, phenol works to eliminate any bacteria or fungus that may have or might yet set up on the wound. Bacteria is often the culprit behind prolonged healing and proud flesh. To eliminate and prevent bacteria will certainly speed up the healing process. The Phenol Wound Cleanser can also be used to treat fungal skin conditions.
The Aloe vera in the Cleanser immediately begins to supply the wound with moisture so that the cells may begin to reconstruct healthy tissue from the inside out for quick and proper healing. Aloe vera also has properties associated with anti-inflammatory action..
The trigger sprayer is not only convenient and fast, but also helps to force out dried or decayed matter inside the wound. It can also be used in cold weather. Just point and spray, no need to rinse.

The second step is to treat the wound with Aloe Advantage Phenol Wound Treatment
PROBLEM: Depending on the wound and the animal, sometimes treatment can be very difficult. If it is a deep wound, you will need something that can get down inside that wound to keep it clean and to keep cells reproducing.
SOLUTION: The Aloe Advantage Phenol Wound Treatment is a "spray on hydro-gel" that clings to the wound, getting into every deep, tiny crevice. The trigger sprayer makes it very convenient and fast. The phenol numbs the wound, while the Aloe vera and Allantoin nourishes the wound. As the "gel" comes in contact with the wound, the body temperature of the animal causes it to melt throughout the entire wound, ensuring complete coverage. Because Aloe vera is a natural carrier, the gel is absorbed into the wound resulting in no waste.
This spray nourishes the wound and contains Phenol, the most effective antiseptic in any horse care product without a prescription. Adjustable sprayer gives the right spray to add convenience and eliminate contact with the wound.

The third step is to protect the wound with Aloe Advantage Aloe Wound Salve
PROBLEM: The viscosity of many salves is very heavy and greasy and ends up suffocating a wound. The wound will probably heal, but because there is no air supply, it will not heal properly. It will heal much slower and could leave a hairless scar.
SOLUTION: The viscosity and texture of the Aloe Wound Slave is light and non-greasy. It allows the wound to breathe, therefore the wound may heal form the inside out. The Aloe vera, a natural carrier, helps to carry the Vitamins A, D, and E within the wound to nourish and rebuild the site. The result is a quick healing wound with minimal scarring and minimal hair loss. The Aloe Wound Salve is like having an "invisible bandage" on the wound. It protects while it allows the wound to breathe.
PROBLEM: Flies landing on the wound.
SOLUTION: One of the added benefits of Aloe Advantage's Wound Salve is that it deters flies. They just do not like it!
